František Tkadlík - Study of a kneeling man from the painting The Calling of Saint Peter
The painting Calling of Saint Peter originated at the same time as The Conversion of Saint Paul on the basis of a commission from the Vyšehrad Provost Josef Alois Jüstel for the Žitenice Chateau. It was most probably Jüstel who specified the themes for both works, given the fact that the Vyšehrad Basilica is consecrated to Saints Peter and Paul.
