Hugo Ullik - Tennengebirge near Salzburg
In the 1860s Ullik travelled extensively in Austria, criss-crossing with his sketch-book chiefly the Austrian Alps and the Salzburg region. He often made drawings of his motifs, which he then used as models in his studio, in several variants, as was the case with Kosárek. One of the best exemples from that period is his Tennengebirge near Salzburg, a view of the mountain range, which Ullik painted both from its immediate vicinity and from a distance.
