River Running through a Town

Johann Christian Vollerdt

Johann Christian Vollerdt - River Running through a Town
Vollerdt was a student of Johann Alexander Thiele (1685?1752) in Dresden. The artist was influenced by Thiele’s oeuvre and, like his teacher, by the art of 17th-century Dutch landscape painters. River landscapes painted under different seasonal conditions were the most distinctive works in his output.
