Vojtěch Bartoněk - Grazing (Rural Idyll)
The Grazing (Rural Idyll) was one of the five canvases that Bartoněk presented at the General Land Centennial Exhibition in Prague in 1891. At that time, the painting was already in the possession of the physician and writer, Professor Josef Thomayer (1853-1927). Thomayer was a close friend to many artists and gathered a collection of more than fifty paintings, drawings, prints, and small sculptures over his life which he bequeathed to the Modern Gallery in his testament.
