Radoslav Kratina

Radoslav Kratina - Chrome-plated Ringdove
Radoslav Kratina was a member of the robust generation of Czech neo-constructivists that entered the art scene in the early 1960s. His personal contribution lay in a creative program based on the transformability of an artwork and participation of the viewer, which Kratina elaborated starting in the 1960s. At first, he worked with wooden geometric elements painted in basic colours and later, in the 1970s, he chose metal for its superior construction qualities. He designed small variable spatial structures composed of workshop-made and geometrically precise elements. Kratina counted on the viewer’s participation - his compositions can easily be transformed with a touch of the hand.
