Radoslav Kratina - Rollers on Axis
Radoslav Kratina was a member of the robust generation of Czech neo-constructivists that entered the art scene in the early 1960s. His personal contribution lay in a creative program based on the transformability of an artwork and participation of the viewer. In the second half of the 1960s, he built objects of simple wooden geometric elements painted in basic colours, which can be moved to create an endless number of forms and colourful compositional variants. They are like standing constructions or hanging relief structures whose potentially movable elements are arranged in the frame’s axis.
