Football with Nails

In 1945, Bohumil Štěpán took up caricature, humorous drawing, graphic design and children’s book illustrations. The nail-studded soccer ball is an example of Štěpán’s large collection of absurd inventions created by combining different used objects. He also depicted them in collages and drawings. They combine his Dada inventiveness, the surrealist tradition and his unique black humour.
