Evening

Evening shows a married couple on their way to the Wells Theatre in Islington. The masculine world is here notably overruled by the feminine one, both on the level of children and adults. The dominance of the little girl over her brother is mercilessly duplicated in the married couple. The whole image is moreover haunted by a sense of claustrophobia, as if there was no escaping the ever-present and stifling heat.
