The oval lockable altarpiece zushi made from wood covered in red lacquer is stylized as a pagoda on a lotus base covered in urushi lacquer and gilded and composed of “opposing” lotus leaves kaeribana. Inside the altarpiece is the Amida Buddha in the padmasana posture with an aura behind his back. The origin of this altarpiece, which was purchased for the National Gallery Prague in an antique shop in Prague in 1971, is unknown.
