Rest in front a Country House

The painting probably ended up in one of the European collections shortly after its creation, as we can see it on the painting of the Antwerp painter Cornelis de Baellieur that depicts an art collection (Lobkowicz Collections, Nelahozeves Castle). Molyn’s painting is probably a kind of a snapshot of daily life - the villagers with a cart have stopped at a building and are giving water to their horses. The landscape as well as the figurative element play equal roles in this.
