Josef Navrátil - Plums
Among Navrátil’s still-lifes with fruit we find a set of carefully painted studies, filled with many details, in which the painter used delicate colour washes. These paintings go back to the years 1853-1856, when Navrátil was a member of the Prague Botanical Society. His goal in these studies was an accurate rendering of the shape and colours of a specific fruit species - of the whole fruit and of many details.
