A Fisherman’s Cottage

Hippolyt Soběslav Pinkas

Hippolyt Soběslav Pinkas - A Fisherman’s Cottage
The interiors of French village cottages were favourite motifs of Realist painters and Pinkas handled them on several occasions. The choice, artistic approach and sober concept were fully in line with Realist painting. Pinkas was primarily interested in depicting these village ineriors as accurately as possible in a natural light that defines space and models the forms of objects.
