Karel Havlíček Borovský, study for a monument at Kutná Hora

Mauder entered many competitions for monumental jobs. He did the sketch for the monument of Karel Havlíček Borovský, while still training with Tomáš Seidan. In contrast to his monumental jobs, which reflected his admiration for French academic sculpture, its elegance and charm, in smaller statues and sketches Mauder tended towards Realism and accepted modern art forms.
