Portrait of a Man in the Late Republican Style

Despite all damage, this is one of the most valuable ancient works of art in the Czech Republic. Even though it dates from the early imperial period, the bust shows features of the traditional republican portrait. The youth’s facial features reflect determination; some disdain in the expression may be caused by deformation.
