St Catherine is an example of a high quality production of the Nuremberg sculpting, represented by the excellent art of Veit Stoss and Adam Kraft. In the third quarter of the 15th century Nuremberg was probably the most significant Central-European centre of economy and the arts, and it was from here that the new cultural tendencies spread widely. The Nuremberg sculpture thus influenced the situation in Plzeň, and later even in Prague and Kutná Hora. The envoys of the king and high nobility coming in Nuremberg to purchase products of the local craftsmen and artists were no exception.
