Sprout

In the 1970s, Eva Kmentová focused on drawing and experimenting with paper. Although it was a serious disease that forced her to change the material and turn her attention to non-sculpting techniques, she layered scraps of paper, creating even large objects in which she returned to vegetable morphology. The vertical Sprout was made of the fragile, non-lasting material using a simple additive technique. One of the last sculptures of Eva Kmentová sensitively captures the growth, the expression of life of all organisms whose invincibility however may be limited by many factors.
