The Harvest

Amálie Mánesová

Amálie Mánesová - The Harvest
In choosing landscape painting, Amálie Mánesová complied with the her father’s wishes. With brothers Josef and Quido she used to visit the Czech countryside, where she found motifs for her work. In her paintings we find lowlands and rocky mountains, stately homes in parks and farmhouses. This Harvest from the 1850s confirms her gifts, which she sacrified in order to take care of her two brothers.
