Jan Sokol - Design for the Church in Staršnice district in Prague, section in perspective
The drawing gives a view into the interior of a church built on an oval ground plan where the oval is not smooth but rather wavy (for static and acoustic reasons). A steel roof truss and the running glass band between the roof and wall are visible. A tall tower with a narrowing belfry in the front is connected to the church by an elongated wing. The church is situated on a stone landing flanked by six stairs on each side; the entrance is lined with a relief wall with a figural motif on one side and a sculptural group on a massive plinth on the other.
