Still Life with a Goblet of Wine, Fruit and Oysters

Abraham Mignon

Abraham Mignon - Still Life with a Goblet of Wine, Fruit and Oysters
Mignon’s Still Life with a Goblet of Wine is a copy after the painting by Jan Davidsz. de Heem, Still Life with Fruit in a Landscape, dated 1653 (Los Angeles, County Museum of Art). It represents a typical and frequently repeated composition by de Heem, featuring a half-peeled lemon and oysters. Mignon found inspiration in De Heem’s work in the painter’s studio, where he worked between 1669 and 1672. The painting from the National Gallery in Prague can probably be dated into the same time.
