Gaspard Dughet (called Poussin)

Gaspard Dughet (called Poussin) - The Landscape with Shepherds
This French painter born in Rome, was a pupil of Nicolas Poussin and his brother-in-law at the same time. He painted mainly capricious Italian landscapes that are characteristically known for their romantic, sometimes even mystical, atmosphere. Even if Dughet never left Italy, he became the member of the French Royal Academy thanks to his tutor.
