Adoration of the Shepherds

The painting, Adoration of the Shepherdsis signed F. C. Reicher pinxit 1677. However, we have hardly any information about the life and works of this painte; his oeuvre thus include only several known works, created from the 1670s to 1705. The model for the Prague painting was an engraving, Adoration of the Magi, by Jan Harmensz. Muller (1571-1628), executed in 1598 after his own drawing. Reicher worked on this composition once more: the painting signed Franz Reiche. Pinx. Osterhouy from Galen Galerie in Greven.
