Allegory with Apollo, Chronos and four Continents

The world is the allegorical theme of this freshly painted sketch for an unknown ceiling painting - Chronos (Saturn), god of time, is depicted in the centre, and the blazing Helios - Apollo and Aurora in the company of Muses are above him. The four figures on the bottom edge represent the continents - America with a feather headdress, Africa with a lion, Europe wearing Venetian clothes and Asia with an Oriental turban.
