Vojtěch Bartoněk - Jarov Court near Závist (Shepherdess with Goats)
Paintings portraying the rural idyll are less numerous in Bartoněk's oeuvre; he began to paint them after his return from Paris where he was captivated by the art of Jules Bastien-Lepage and Jules Breton. The depicted villages and landscapes are based on reality. Bartoněk first sought inspiration during his joint sojourns with the painters František Slabý and Vilém Trsek, and later he took a fancy to places along the Vltava: Jarov and Vrané nad Vltavou.
