His today greatly renowned Myself: Portrait - Landscape of 1890 depicts the then new way of the artist’s perception and reflects the artistic confidence of the painter. The Eiffel Tower as well as the balloon in the sky are attributes that celebrate modern civilisation but within the painting mainly they underline the self-confident stance of the artist.
