In this case, the sought-after Viennese landscape painter followed the works of the Dutch painter Philipps Wouwerman. By imprinting rococo playfulness on the scene, however, he transferred it into a different style. The hunter couple on horseback was provided with aristocratic elegance and in representing the restless running-about of the boys with dogs, the artist underlined the tension of the moment, when the prey was near.
