St Anne with the Virgin Mary and the Child Jesus

St Anna ranks among the group of the South Bohemian monuments, which were under a strong influence of the Viennese circle of the Danube woodcarving school. The sculptor of this statue was active South Bohemia in the period 1515 - 1525; he was very likely directly acquainted with the Viennese art of sculpting. A group of his works though not very numerable has been collected around the relief of the Burying of Christ, which originates probably from the parish Church in Sedlec in the Prachatice region.
