Magdalena Jetelová - Chair
The work of Magdalena jetelová is characterized by a distinctive scultural perception, statuesqueness and grandeur. In the late 1970s, the artist began to create monumental objects and special installations. During the firts half of the 1980s, she embraced two basic themes in particular: those of chairs and stairs. In the late 1980s, Jetelová was strongly drawn to the implementation of elements of modern technology, especially laser projection, and to hard wood - her favorite material. In this respect, the Chair is a truly sympromatic artifact, a monumental sculptural work. Endowed with new menas of expression, in combines oth of Jetelová´s artistic themes, demonstrating thereby that even a classival sculptural rendition can be enhanced through new vehicles of expression that appropriadely capture the sensibility of the present times.
