Karel Pauzer - Dog Family
The expressive sculpture by Karel Pauzer is characterized by polychrome formations composed of biomorphic elements, and by fantastic animal figures with naturalistic details. Many of them are inspired by a dog’s physiognomy. For Pauzer, the animal world, often monstrous and awesome, becomes the source of an allegory of man and society. Animals, captured in motion, with a striking expression and composed in communities or families, represent a grotesque paraphrasis of the world of humans and an ironic metaphor for man’s instinctive essence.
