While Canaletto favoured a highly accurate representation of the urban space, Michele Marieschi did not execute his prints and paintings with such interest in perspective, nor did he find it necessary to faithfully record every detail. In his works, he adapted both the spatial arrangement and the capturing of the light and shade to suit his own artistic ideas.
