A bronze oval-shaped incense burner with an openwork lid and three feet. It is inlaid in gold and silver. The circumference of the body and lid are adorned with a band of figural motifs (some in medallions) on a floral background. The lid’s circumference also bears the following inscription: “hālat as-silā‘/bi Allāh as-silāh” (status of burning / arms with Allah). Incense burners like this were used at court to burn incense or sandal wood.
