unknown - Pear-shaped wine ewer decorated with landscape
From the end of the Ming dynasty, blue and white porcelains increasingly depict landscape sceneries inspired by painting or figural compositions. The ewer with landscape motif is especially interesting owing to its shape. It was filled with liquid through a pipe leading all the way from the vessel’s bottom. The upper part is enclosed and shaped like a peach – a symbol of longevity.
