Still Life with Fruit, Flowers and Oysters

De Heem artfully composed the fruit in luxurious containers on the table, which is partially covered by a table cloth, almost leisurely. De Heem’s still life is a perfectly thought-out composition that should seem natural and accidental, as we can judge from the placement of the insects and water dropping from the oysters. Perfect rendering of the illusion of the three-dimensional, real space is strengthened by the nail in the wall on the left-hand side.
