Large Mountain Scenery

Compared with his gouaches, Navrátil’s oil paintings of natural sceneries are more varied in motifs, colour schems and the rendering of atmosphere. They come nearer to reality, although most of the motifs are from the Swiss and Austrian Alps. Large striking mountain panoramas with forked glacier peaks tend to tally more with fashionable Romanticism.
