Boiled Lobster

Josef Navrátil

Josef Navrátil - Boiled Lobster
Navrátil painted still-lifes since the 1840s on murals for Liběchov and Ploskovice, as oil paintings mainly in fifties. For his friend Jan Chlumecký, owner of a wine-cellar, he painted signboards with delicacies and several small still-lifes for his delicatessen shop "U Itala" in Železná street. Navrátil did many preparatory studies, in which he realistically and with light sketchy brushwork depicted e.g. various sea animals.
