Oskar Kokoschka - Gitta
Oskar Kokoschka created the portrait of Gitta Balke née Welz in 1953 when he first moved from London to Salzburg and later to Villeneuve by Lake Geneva. Alongside Friedrich Welz, Kokoschka founded the School of Vision - an international summer academy of fine arts in Salzburg.
